I learned that you have been able to demonstrate your learning by using a range of genres. While most of your culminating assignments were in using video technology, I also understand that you had to plan, research, storyboard, and work with others.
The GLO1 evidence was appropriate because you had to be self-directed in order to complete the physical assignment during spring break. I'm glad that you did not procrastinate and made use of the opportunity Mr. Pasquil provided. Because of this, you learned about the fish ponds and conservation.
GLO2 was evident when you completed culminating activities for social studies, science and Menemac. While you may have had qroup assignments for the other classes, I can see that received a lot of practice learning to work together, which is an essential skill.
GLO 3 involves problem-solving. I hope that you understand that there is problem-solving in all of your classes. Critical thinking is another skill that can be developed no matter what project or class.
GLO 4 -Quality Producer. I think that, like your first semester portfolio project, you can take more time to proof-read through items and check your conventions. Your thinking and reflection are your own, but how you communicate that is essential in sharing your thinking. I think that when you are interested in a topic the quality of the work is better. The lesson, moving forward, is that anything worth doing, is worth doing well. In school, all learning opportunities are worth doing.
GLO 5 - Effective Communicator. I thought that you would be able to use the morning bulletin assignments but I guess not. Again, words are important. Tone is important. Organization helps people follow your thinking. This will continue to be another growth area for you, but I think that using technology helps you be more proficient in communication that the traditional modes.
GLO 6 is the essence of this program. Learning to maximize the opportunity to communicate your learning in this genre is a 21st century skill which will help you be college and career ready. So, continue to take advantage of learning in this mode. You are fortunate. Do not get caught in the challenge many young people are faced with (including adults) and that's the ethical portion of this GLO. You've learned to be an efficient and effective user of technology. Being an ethical user of technology should not be a challenge, but this area will continue to change so you have to keep up.
Since I'm not aware of ALL of your assignments, I trust that you've picked the ones that best demonstrate your learning. Even projects that didn't work, or ones with really low grades, could be evidence of learning provided you reflect on what you've learned.
